YOSUKE UENO

If you dare to enter the world of Japanese artist Yosuke Ueno, get ready for a strange and surreal adventure. Ueno will take you on a magical ride, introducing you to everyone from a giant baby swan to what looks like Rainbow Bright's black sheep cousin. Weird, creepy but in a beautiful kind of way, Ueno's art stands out for its interesting juxtapositions and hidden symbolism. Skulls, swans, scissors and even AOL characters appear in his paintings, making you wonder what kind of hidden message they all carry.
"I always start new work without any detailed designs. My hope is for a piece to complete itself beyond my imagination. I sometimes say that artists are parallel to scientists. Scientists have no way of knowing the result of an experiment beforehand. The same can be said about creating art." - Yosuke Ueno

Yosuke Ueno was born in Japan in 1977. He has been building his world since a young child and had his first solo show in Yamaguchi, Japan in 1994 at the young age of 16. Ueno's work has shown with some of the most established galleries including major exhibitions in his home country of Japan at the Shimoni-Seki Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.

S U N T U R

The way Martin Margiela was perceived by the fashion industry – very talented, but a mystery - could easily be said about illustrator Suntur Yozanun

He’s from Thailand, see his characters and drawings on instagram and facebook. His selfies and self-portraits tell us he wears glasses and sports short hair. But other than that: Suntur doesn’t have a website and doesn’t answer his email.

This said, just have a look at his impressive portfolio. His style is quite unique, yet very distinctive: naïve, detailed and playful, drawing people, animals, food, plants and objects. His illustrations can be found on scarfs (collab with Labyrinthism), T-shirts, debit cards, iPhone cases,…and lots of his work can now be purchased at his facebook shop.
